With the Pandigital Personal Photo Scanner you can convert classic photos into digital files at the touch of a button. It can scan photos up to 8-1/2 x 11” with a 600 dpi resolution, and if you wish, you can make a permanent archive to store all of your favorite images. You can use the scanner with or without a computer – you can save the files either to a computer with the USB 2.0 cable included, or you can save to the included SD memory card.
The memory card supplied with the machine can hold up to 1GB worth of files, so you can store hundreds of photos. It takes very quick scans of wallet sized or large photos at a resolution of 600 dpi. The output scans convert to digital files to ensure they won’t degrade over time.
The unit is very compact. You can take it virtually anywhere where you have some photos to scan. Not having to connect the device to a computer is certainly one of the best features. If you are not connected via USB cord, photos will save automatically to the SD memory card.

There is an adjustable guide which is there to help you to feed your pictures into the slot. However, if you position you pictures up against the left edge of the scan path, you probably won’t even need it.
As for the performance of the machine, scans are relatively fast, and the quality is good. On default setting, it takes about 20 seconds to scan and save a 4×6 photo. Photos feed through the scanner quickly and once the light stops blinking, you’re good to scan another.
Unfortunately you don’t have a great deal of control over the scan settings. You can choose from 300dpi or 600dpi, but it doesn’t really get much more advanced than that.
If you want a scanner that’s convenient for digitalizing photos and documents, the Pandigital-panscn06 doesn’t disappoint.
